The work placement element of the programme provides participants with experience relevant to their interests in the field. This coupled with the Digital Portfolio will prepare graduates for finding the right opportunity to match their new skills and competencies, while empowering them to build their own career trajectory. This programme has a closely linked suite of activities designed to act as a career catalyst, ensuring that graduates are career ready. It brings the research dissertation, placement and digital portfolio together as a 'Career Accelerator', in a coherent, tangible and transferable entity that is aimed at accelerating graduates’ careers. This is a connected, collaborative application of theory to practice with an emphasis on ensuring industry-ready high potential graduates. It is delivered in partnership with academia, industry, and the Careers Service and ensures students graduate with a portfolio that reflects their knowledge, skills and competencies while showing the breadth, depth, and currency of work that has been undertaken. As a wraparound to prepare students for the workplace, the Career’s Office provide a number of seminars on CV creation and interviewing as well as offer one-to-one mock interviews and feedback on CVs.
