Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) is Ireland's first technological university, formally established on 1 January 2019 under the Technological Universities Act 2018. It was formed through the amalgamation of three established institutions: Dublin Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology Blanchardstown, and Institute of Technology Tallaght, with roots stretching back to 1887 when the City of Dublin Technical Schools were founded.
