The PGCE Secondary Chemistry (Welsh Medium) at Bangor University is designed to provide you with a deep understanding of how children and adolescents learn, equipping you with the skills and knowledge needed to develop as a creative and innovative chemistry teacher. The programme is co-constructed, delivered, and assessed with a network of excellent partnership schools across the region through the CaBan Bangor Partnership.

Associate Teachers will explore and analyse the principles of the new science curriculum, enabling them to become effective practitioners with a sound understanding of theory-based pedagogy. The programme also offers short placements in secondary and special schools, as well as outdoor education centres, to ensure you gain enhanced experience specific to your individual interests.

Admission Requirements

Entry to the PGCE Secondary Chemistry (Welsh Medium) programme requires a relevant undergraduate degree and fluency in Welsh.
