Midwifery

 The curriculum of the degree program requires that students admitted to the first year have adequate initial preparation in logic and general knowledge, biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.

Attendance at both theoretical and practical classes is mandatory.

The curriculum includes theoretical lectures, guided clinical study, seminars, exercises, internships, tutorials, self-learning, self-assessment, and in-depth study, as well as thesis and research projects.

Theoretical and clinical internship activities are closely interconnected and planned according to a curricular logic that allows for the progressive acquisition of knowledge, comprehension, application of knowledge and understanding, independent judgment, communication skills, and learning abilities, taking into account scientific evidence and regulatory and organizational guidelines in Italy and internationally.

To allow for exposure to diverse organizational contexts, the supervised internship activities will be carried out by the student at university clinics, in hospitals, and in out-of-hospital settings such as districts and family planning clinics, in accordance with the memorandum of understanding between the Universities of Trieste and Udine and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. The degree program concludes with a final exam, which qualifies the student to practice the profession of midwife.
