University of Trieste

The University of Trieste is a public institution of higher learning, secular , pluralistic , and independent of any ideological, religious, political, or economic orientation, in accordance with the principles of the Constitution of the Republic and the international commitments undertaken by Italy regarding scientific research and university education. The primary tasks of the University of Trieste are scientific research and higher education, with the aim of promoting the cultural , civil , social , and economic development of the Republic . The University of Trieste recognizes that teaching and research are inseparable, and that both, where applicable, are inseparable from healthcare. The University of Trieste, in accordance with the principles expressed in its Statute , as well as with its strategic guidelines , is aware of the importance of creating within itself a culture oriented towards the active participation of the entire university community in pursuing the objectives of:

the quality of teaching, research, and public and social engagement activities - third mission

quality assurance

the continuous improvement of the activities carried out within the scope of its institutional objectives

the innovation of support services offered internally and externally.

It is precisely through the definition and implementation of a Quality Assurance (QA) System at the University level that the Governing Bodies aim to successfully develop the strategies they have defined and the action programs that support them. 

The primary purpose of Quality Assurance (QA) activities, carried out at the University, Department, and individual Degree Program and PhD levels, is to generate adequate confidence in the availability of the necessary tools and the implementation of activities to achieve the fundamental objectives of training, research, public and social engagement - Third Mission (IPS-TM) activities and to verify the degree to which they have been achieved.
