Sustainability and Global Environmental Futures MA
Lancaster University, United Kingdom
The master’s in Global Sustainability and Environmental Futures analyses the relationship between people and the environment. Drawing on critical concepts, theories and practices from the arts, humanities, and social and natural sciences, tools are introduced that enable the complexity of human and non-human interests in environmental futures to be unpacked.
Educational, scientific, legal and regulatory approaches to global issues such as violence, sites of trauma and conflict, inequalities, poverty and environmental injustice are examined. The past, present and future of environmental change are explored, including topics such as global environmental politics, environmental crisis and societal change.
Through a variety of modules, engagement with multiple disciplines is encouraged, enabling issues to be considered from the perspectives of diverse stakeholders and context-specific solutions to be identified.
