Environmental and Energy Law

This mission addresses major themes of the “Green Revolution”—including sustainable agriculture, energy transition, infrastructure and sustainable mobility, and sustainable land management—which are now essential areas of knowledge for training the next generation of legal professionals. In this regard, the Degree Programme in Environmental and Energy Law is the first legal education offering at the national level to provide targeted, innovative expertise in environmental and energy law, increasingly sought after in both the public and private sectors.

The programme’s educational design follows a progressive learning approach: it begins by establishing a solid foundation in legal science and gradually introduces environmental and energy-specific content as shaped by various branches of law.

The three-year curriculum is structured as follows:

First Year: Focuses on building a comprehensive foundation in the core principles of legal science. In addition to essential law courses, students are offered supplementary training in English and computer literacy, considered crucial for a modern legal education.

Second and Third Years: The study path becomes more specialized, covering topics such as land use planning, cultural heritage protection, environmental taxation, sustainable mobility, and the energy market. Special attention is given to the European and international dimensions, which are now fundamental to the understanding of environmental and energy law.

Final Year: The programme concludes with a mandatory internship, allowing students to gain practical experience by working at a local company or, alternatively, within a public institution under formal agreement with the university.
