The BSc (Hons) Horticulture (Plant Science and Technology) at SRUC is the only undergraduate horticulture degree programme offered in Scotland. Curriculum & Modules
The BSc (Hons) Horticulture (Plant Science and Technology) curriculum blends theoretical knowledge with practical application across four years of study. You will progress from foundational horticultural principles to advanced topics in plant science, technology, and sustainability, culminating in an honours-level research project.
Provides a holistic understanding of horticultural production technologies, examining inputs used in the horticulture industry to improve crop yield and quality while advancing sustainable and efficient practices.
Applies knowledge of integrated crop management (ICM) in horticulture in relation to national and global sustainability goals, including the UN SDGs, and links these to practical decisions made by growers.
