The main aim of Mechtronics (Electro Technical Officer) programme is to prepare the graduates to the duties of Maritime Electro Technical Officer and thereon. Additionally the graduates will also be able to be employed as liable technicians for the maintenance facilities of ships and Electro Technical personnel in merchant fleets as well. Moreover, they could be employed as responsible technical personnel in the field of electronics, mechatronics, electro technology, energy, automation, communications, automotive and related technical services at shore.
Academical education consists of four semesters. Students first enroll the mathematics, physics, chemistry and computer courses. Afterwards, they take the electricity, electronics, electrotechnology, mechatronics, control and automation principles courses as well as navigation, electronic navigation and maritime communication pronciples to specialize in the fields. Once the program is successfully completed, Associate's Degree Diploma in Mechatronics in given to the students. The cirriculum is fully compatible with the STCW 2010.
