Innovative Agricultural Systems First Cycle

SAI degree course is developed in 3 years during which students will acquire 180 ETS, divided into 19 teachings, English language (B1 level), theoretical and practical internship (150 h) with drafting and discussion of a technical report (6 ETS) and final degree exam (6 ETS).
In the first year the teachings are basic, to provide a scientific language common to the different fields (mathematics, physics, chemistry and plant biology), with in-depth studies in the areas of ecology, pedology, microbiology and economics.
In the second year, the specific disciplines of the degree course in 'Innovative Agricultural Systems' are agronomy, arboriculture and plant production, genetics, crop protection with a particular focus on Smart Agriculture, interpretation and processing of data coming from remote sensing.
In the third year, students complete their training with the study of the sustainable cultivation of orchards, olive groves, vineyards, nurseries, and the cultivation and management of ornamental plants, and skills and knowledge in economics, environmental sustainability and communication of applied innovative processes to production. The second semester of the third year is mainly dedicated to practical-applicative training and the preparation of the thesis.
The entire training course is characterized by:
- a strong integration between the teachings imparted through lectures, practical lesson in the field and in the lab, seminars to encourage the development of a clear multidisciplinary approach;
- use of the Moodle technological platform, such as LMS (Learning Management System), for the development of 'Technology Enhanced' and 'Blended' training courses.
Employment opportunities for graduates in Innovative Agricultural Systems:
- technical consultancy activities for agricultural and/or nursery companies, associations, consortia, cooperatives, commercial structures, public institutions
- marketing and product innovation activities in the supply chain
- green maintenance activities
- management and monitoring of the quality of organic and integrated agricultural production;
- employment in research, assistance and technical dissemination services.
The Course in Innovative Agricultural Systems is also aimed at providing the knowledge and skills for access to master's degrees relating to the agricultural sector.
To be admitted to the CdS you must:
- possession of a five-year high school diploma, or other qualification obtained abroad recognized as suitable,
- the possession or acquisition of adequate initial preparation, the verification of which will be carried out through an entry test (orientation test), which is not an obstacle for the purposes thereof.
