Marche Polytechnic University (Università Politecnica delle Marche, UNIVPM) is a public university situated in the Italian city of Ancona on the Adriatic coast. Founded in 1969, the institution has a mainly technical-scientific vocation and is recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research. It offers over 75 degree programmes across five faculties in Agriculture, Economics, Engineering, Medicine and Surgery, and Sciences.
The university began as a branch of the University of Urbino in 1959, offering courses in engineering. It gained independent status as the University of Ancona in 1971 and was renamed Università Politecnica delle Marche in January 2003. Today, UNIVPM employs approximately 540 academics and 550 technical and administrative staff across 12 departments, 7 of which have been declared Excellence Departments by the Italian National Agency for University and Research Evaluation (ANVUR).
UNIVPM places strong emphasis on internationalization, maintaining over 800 Erasmus+ agreements with universities in more than 33 countries and 360 Memorandums of Understanding worldwide. For International Students
EU students do not need a visa. Non-EU students must obtain a student visa from the Italian embassy before arrival and apply for a Residence Permit at the Questura in Ancona within two weeks of arrival.
The International Relations Office provides support with enrollment, orientation, accommodation assistance, and integration services for all incoming international students.
