Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists work with disadvantaged groups such as elderly people, disabled people, street children, people who abuse substances, people with psychiatric conditions. Occupational therapists’ roles include reducing employment problems, improving the health-related quality of life among all age groups, working through functional independence through person/environment/ activity adaptations, designing adaptive devices suiting individuals’ needs, modifiying the environment with the aim of universal design; with the main goal of independence in activities of daily life fort he individual(s). Graduates work in many areas such as public/university hospitals, private hospitals, special education and rehabilitation centers, geriatric centers, retirement homes, schools, support training rooms, social activity centers, community mental health centers.
