Mercy University, previously known as Mercy College, is a private coeducational institution with its Manhattan campus located in the heart of Herald Square at 47 West 34th Street. Founded in 1950 by the Sisters of Mercy, the university has grown from a small junior college in Dobbs Ferry into a comprehensive university offering more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs across six academic schools.

Mercy University is a federally designated minority-serving institution and the largest private Hispanic-Serving Institution in New York State.
