Nursing
Trieste Campus, Italy
Professional skills (intellectual, interpersonal, and technical) are developed through classroom training (lectures), practical and interpersonal skills (workshops, internships, practical work on simulators, individual tutoring, group work), and individual study.
Training takes place at the Trieste (central site) and Monfalcone (coordinated site) campuses.
Attendance is mandatory for 100% of the internship hours and 75% of the teaching hours required in relation to the total number of hours for each course. Only in the presence of serious and documented reasons can the Teaching Committee authorize a reduction of this limit, which in any case cannot be less than 50%.
The training curriculum takes particular account of the discipline's unique elements and the various conceptual models of reference. In order to provide an appropriate, effective, and efficient nursing response to priority health problems, clinical-care training places particular emphasis on the care process, the supportive relationship, and the application of scientific evidence in the process of solving individual problems.
The Degree Program in Nursing participates in the Erasmus for Study and Erasmus for Traineeship programs, through which students can undertake learning/internship periods abroad.
Furthermore, through the University Language Center, the Degree Program enables each student to achieve level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for English within the three-year period.
The degree awarded qualifies students to practice the nursing profession.
Career opportunities include the following: nurses carry out their professional activities in prevention, assistance, and health education in public or private healthcare facilities, in the community, and in home care, either as employees or as freelancers; they contribute to the training of support staff and directly contribute to continuing professional development; they are actively involved in the education and professional development of students and in the integration of new colleagues.
Continuing the study path provides access to the Master's Degree in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences LM/SNT1, first and second level master's degrees.
