Government Sciences and Public Policy

The core of the program is its diverse range of legal, linguistic, historical, statistical, economic, sociological, and political science knowledge, designed to understand the processes of planning and implementing public policies and the governance of complex organizations at different levels of government, from local to international, and at public, private, and third-sector institutions. Due to its interdisciplinary nature, the program is structured so that the first year offers courses mostly common to both degree programs, aiming to provide the fundamental and multidisciplinary skills essential for graduates' specialized training. The second year, which is differentiated, offers courses specific to both degree programs and aimed at providing specific and advanced skills necessary for entering the job market. The program also aims to prepare graduates for public competitive examinations, thanks to the inclusion of legal and economic subjects within its curriculum, and prepares them for access to higher levels of public administration and public and private management. Multi-functional preparation and internationalization are the key criteria used in designing the program, aiming to increase the employment opportunities of recent graduates. Finally, the program is deeply rooted in the geographic context of the Northeast, offering the opportunity for highly professionalizing internships and placements, particularly at local institutions.
