Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

The international master's degree program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, taught in English, offers a unique blend of two key areas of digital transformation: data science and artificial intelligence. This combined focus on these two aspects translates into a curriculum that encompasses scientific topics, including cutting-edge ones, and applications in the industrial, economic, social, and medical fields, closely connected and integrated with the world of business and research. The degree program, organized by the University of Trieste, is offered in collaboration with special-status schools, research institutions, and businesses in the Trieste area and the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The program provides students with a solid methodological foundation in three areas: machine learning and artificial intelligence, mathematical-statistical-computer modeling, intensive computing, and information technologies. Students will deepen their skills in data science and artificial intelligence based on their chosen curriculum and can complement their education with courses in applied areas in various fields, including industry, natural sciences, medicine, social sciences, and economics. Students will acquire not only theoretical knowledge but also the ability to apply it to solve practical problems through individual exercises and group projects. The training will be complemented by seminars and an internship and thesis, which may be completed at affiliated companies and research institutions.
