
Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience

The program provides a laboratory-oriented education that ranges from aspects of basic research to clinical laboratory research. Through increasingly independent work in the participating research facilities over the course of the program, students acquire the capability to apply their knowledge to their subsequent professional life or to new questions in a subsequent doctorate phase. Although the future professional field for graduates of the Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience master's program must still emerge, the following fields of work are conceivable:
Collaboration in scientific basic research in biological and biomedical disciplines at university institutes, Max Planck Institutes and major research institutions of the Federal Government.
Applied research and development in medication development in the pharmaceutical industry or with biotech firms
Cooperation in clinical research projects in laboratories of university hospitals, or other work in clinical facilities with molecular and cellular alignment
Work in the fields of Bioinformatics
Responsibilities in the field of Forensics
