Program Overview: Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) at the University of Liverpool
The Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) at the University of Liverpool offers scientific and clinical training in veterinary medicine through an integrated spiral curriculum. On graduation, you will be qualified to practise as a veterinary surgeon in the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, North America, and many other countries worldwide.
The first three years of the course are based at the central Liverpool campus, where you will enjoy a vibrant university experience alongside foundational veterinary studies. Years four and five are based at the Leahurst campus on the Wirral, where you will undertake intensive clinical rotations using the university's own teaching hospitals, farms, and clinics.
The university provides all of its own teaching across all five years, using two working farms covering beef and dairy cattle, pigs, and sheep, as well as dedicated teaching horses and clinical facilities. Professional and clinical skills are introduced from day one, encouraging students to engage with all aspects of veterinary science from the very start of the course.
