Bioveterinary Sciences BSc
Preston Campus, United Kingdom
Year 1 provides a broad foundation in animal biology and disease. You’ll study animal structure and function across species, including anatomy, physiology and histology, alongside the causes and mechanisms of disease and immune responses. You’ll also explore integrated bioveterinary science, linking molecular biology to ecosystems, and develop data analysis and practical skills. Modules in animal behaviour, housing and husbandry introduce key concepts in animal care and welfare, with a strong emphasis on practical laboratory and field-based learning.
Year 2 focuses on advanced knowledge and application. You’ll deepen your understanding of disease and immune processes, while developing research skills and evaluating scientific evidence. You’ll build technical and communication skills in animal handling, sample collection and welfare assessment. The year culminates in an independent research project and exploration of global challenges in bioveterinary science, preparing you for careers or further study, with enhanced professional, analytical and problem-solving skills.
