The Science and Health Communication MSc at the University of Dundee prepares you with the knowledge and skills to join a growing international workforce in the science and healthcare communication industries. You will gain advanced expertise in theories of science communication, content design, persuasive communication, audience segmentation, critical analysis of scientific papers and clinical trial results, and evaluation of effective engagement.

Unlike many similar degree courses, this program also covers specialist scientific subjects including ethical issues in science and healthcare, drug discovery, clinical trials, epidemiology, and the language and challenges in biomedical sciences and translational medicine. You will also gain practical experience in visual and written communication, graphic design, social media communications, and storytelling and narrative design.

This course was conceived and designed in partnership with Amiculum, a leading global health communications consultancy with teams across the UK, USA, Asia, New Zealand, and the Middle East. Additional industry partners have been consulted to ensure the curriculum directly addresses the skills employers seek in this rapidly growing field.

Curriculum and Modules

Science and Health Communication Industries and Contemporary Issues
