They are able to assess the impact of new technologies in the medical field and manage the process innovation that accompanies them. Their training requires a foundation in engineering and knowledge of biomedical technologies, which must be combined with an understanding of the principles underlying process management and innovation. They will also be able to verify compliance with regulations regarding the production, construction, and use of medical devices and artificial organs.
