Sport, Business & Law
University of Bayreuth, Germany
Overview
The Master's program in Sports Economics offers flexible study options, meaning it can be either application- or research-oriented, and can therefore be tailored to the interests of each student. Building on the fundamental knowledge acquired in the Bachelor's program, students acquire advanced methodological skills in the Master's program, enabling them to identify, analyze, and solve even complex problems with detailed specialist knowledge. Interdisciplinarity is also a key focus: students complete introductory modules in the fields of sports economics, business administration, and sports science (depending on their prior knowledge). They then choose a specialization in business administration (Marketing & Services, Business Management, Corporate Accounting, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, or Digital Economy), sports science (Health & Fitness Management, Sports Governance and Event Management, Training – Performance – Competition, or Sports Ecology and Outdoor Sports), and methodology. The program is rounded out by attractive elective modules, where students can freely choose from various fields of sports management, business administration, sports science, law, and language training. In the master's module, students finally demonstrate their ability to independently and appropriately research a novel topic and present it in writing.
