Curriculum and Modules

The MSc Sport and Exercise Nutrition consists of five compulsory modules totalling 180 UK credits. Two foundational modules build your scientific knowledge, followed by a professional placement module, a research methods module, and a substantial dissertation project that allows you to specialise in your area of interest.

Theory of Sport and Exercise Nutrition

Develops your theoretical understanding of physiological and biochemical responses to exercise. You will critically analyse physiological testing results and assess the derivation and use of energy, macronutrients, and micronutrients in sport contexts.

Applied Sport and Exercise Nutrition

Builds practical and theoretical skills for designing, delivering, and monitoring athletic nutrition programmes. You will examine the influence of nutrition on sporting performance and explore nutritional strategies for preparation, participation, and recovery from competition.

Professional Placement
