The Pharmacology and Innovative Therapeutics BSc (Hons) programme blends molecular pharmacology, clinical trial methodology and business principles to equip graduates for roles in pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Over three full‑time years, students complete core modules in physiology, pharmacology, immunology, drug design, clinical trials and regulatory affairs, with optional electives such as Cancer Biology, Biomarkers and Translational Pharmacology. Practical laboratory sessions, industry‑linked research projects and the possibility of a year abroad or a year in industry offer hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge instrumentation and exposure to real‑world drug development pipelines. Instruction draws on the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, integrating insights from the William Harvey Research Institute’s work on cell‑division control and novel cancer therapeutics. Assessment includes examinations, coursework reports, presentations and a final‑year research project, emphasizing scientific rigor and professional communication.
