Piri Reis University Maritime Faculty maritime programs meet the undergraduate requirements and Oceangoing Chief Engineer education qualifications. Maritime Faculty Education and Training Programs; meet the IMO requirements, are monitored and inspected by YÖK and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. Course curriculum is fully compatible with STCW 2010.
The aim of the program is to prepare students for the duties of ocean-going watchkeeping engineers on merchant ships. Students specialize in electrical, electronics and control engineering following courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry and basic engineering.
Students complete a 12-month internship, 6 months in a workshop and 6 months on a ship.
According to the Regulation on Seafarers and Pilots, those who are successful in the driving license exam conducted by the Seafarers Examination Center are entitled to receive the Oceangoing Watchkeeping Engineer license.
