Educational Management and Supervision (Turkish) - Thesis Program

Purpose of the Program

The main purpose of the program is to develop the effective educational management and instructional leadership capacities of teachers, managers, inspectors, education specialists and other employees who work or will work in the education sector; to provide them with the skills to conduct research and produce solutions by addressing the problems that arise in the field of education with a scientific approach. In order to achieve this main purpose, students are provided with rich learning environments through various courses and activities that will combine leadership and management theories and practices.

Structure of the Program

During the program, participants will have the opportunity to deeply examine current approaches and practices in the field of educational administration and leadership, analyze the practices in this field and adapt them to the educational system and institutions. For this purpose, the program staff was selected from academics who have made a name for themselves in the field of educational administration and leadership at leading universities in Turkey and who have also gained experience in the National Education System.

The thesis program consists of 24 credits of courses and a master's thesis, while the non-thesis program consists of 30 credits of courses and a graduation project. In order to graduate from the program, students must complete the total course load with a GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 and be successful in the master's thesis/grading project. Those who want to transfer from the non-thesis program to the thesis program must document that they have received at least 55 points from ÜDS, KPDS or other equivalent exams, and at least 60 points from the exam administered by the Istanbul Okan University Foreign Languages ​​Preparatory Unit, and meet other conditions determined by the University Senate.

About the Educational Administration and Supervision Thesis Program

The duration of the master's program with thesis in educational administration and supervision is 4 semesters. During this period, students take theoretical and practical courses in the field of educational administration and supervision and are required to prepare a graduation thesis under the supervision of an advisor and pass the thesis defense exam. Students who successfully complete their education at the end of two years receive a Master's degree.

At the end of this program, expert candidates who graduate from the field of Educational Administration and Supervision will

be able to: 1. apply the theories and principles they have learned in their field to the field of Educational Administration and Supervision.

2. perceive the problems they encounter in their field and find solutions to these problems,

3. analyze and manage change in their field.

4. conduct academic studies in their field and present and publish them in academic environments.

5. develop new approaches in their field.

• Having at least 55 points in ALES EA field (For thesis program)
• Undergraduate GPA must be at least 2.5 (on a 4-point scale)

• Undergraduate Graduation Certificate (Original document, notarized copy or graduation certificate obtained from the E-Government system)
• ALES exam document (Only for thesis programs - EA minimum 55 points)
• Transcript; original or approved by the university from which the student graduated.
• Copy of ID Card, Notarized Copy or Document Received via E-Government
• 1 passport size photo
• Residence and Criminal Record from E-Government
• Military Status Certificate for Male Candidates
• For Graduates from Universities Abroad; Original or certified copy of the equivalence certificate received from the Council of Higher Education and/or a certificate of recognition issued by the Council of Higher Education.
