M.Sc. International Logistics & Supply Chain Management (German/English)
Frankfurt Campus, Germany
Overview
The M.Sc. International Logistics & Supply Chain Management (German/English) program at ISM is a future-oriented Master’s degree designed to equip students with a powerful combination of logistics-specific expertise, international business acumen, and strategic management skills. Over the course of four semesters, including a semester abroad and a practice-oriented master’s thesis, students are thoroughly prepared to navigate and lead within the increasingly complex and globalized logistics and supply chain sectors.
In the first two semesters at one of ISM’s modern campuses in Germany, students develop a deep understanding of logistics systems, mobility solutions, and infrastructure management, alongside essential business fundamentals in finance, marketing, strategy, and leadership. The curriculum places special emphasis on supply chain modeling, transportation networks, and logistics technologies, ensuring students are capable of optimizing and innovating value chains across industries.
Core modules focus on both operational processes and strategic perspectives, enabling students to analyze logistics performance, design sustainable supply networks, and respond effectively to global disruptions. With the growing relevance of digital transformation, students are also introduced to cutting-edge developments such as logistics automation, smart warehousing, AI-based forecasting, and blockchain applications in supply chain transparency.
Beyond technical knowledge, the program emphasizes intercultural competence and soft skills such as public speaking, negotiation, and project management, which are vital for cross-border collaboration and leadership. Students also engage in practical projects, case studies, and consulting simulations in cooperation with logistics firms, transportation providers, or infrastructure developers. This hands-on approach ensures that theoretical knowledge is translated into actionable skills.
A key highlight of the program is the third semester abroad at one of ISM’s prestigious international partner universities. During this time, students expand their global perspective, explore international logistics practices, and gain exposure to different regulatory environments, consumer behaviors, and supply chain challenges. The International Office at ISM offers personalized guidance and support throughout the selection and application process.
In the fourth semester, students undertake a practice-oriented master’s thesis, often in cooperation with a company, allowing them to explore real-world challenges such as route optimization, green logistics, demand forecasting, or supply chain resilience. This final project not only demonstrates students’ analytical and strategic capabilities but also often serves as a direct path into the professional world.
Graduates of the M.Sc. International Logistics & Supply Chain Management program are awarded 120 ECTS credits and are ideally equipped for high-level careers in logistics consulting, supply chain management, operations strategy, transport infrastructure planning, or mobility innovation across multinational corporations, NGOs, and government agencies. With a balance of rigorous academics, international exposure, and practical engagement, the program is an excellent launchpad for those aspiring to shape the future of global logistics.
