The M.Sc. Finance at the International School of Management (ISM) expands your knowledge in accounting, taxation, financial law, controlling, and financial rating, training you to become an expert in financial management. This practice-oriented program sensitizes you to current finance-related topics and enables you to develop a comprehensive understanding of the interrelations between financial markets.

Taught primarily in German with approximately 30 percent of classes delivered in English, the program combines rigorous academic content with hands-on experience through real-world consulting projects, integrated internships, and small-group learning. You will complete the first two semesters at one of ISM's German campuses in Dortmund, Frankfurt/Main, Munich, or Berlin, followed by a semester abroad at one of over 190 partner universities worldwide.

Curriculum & Modules — M.Sc. Finance

The M.Sc. Finance curriculum offers in-depth knowledge of data-driven finance subjects including quantitative finance, financial planning and rating, risk management, investment banking, controlling, and auditing. ISM takes a holistic approach to admissions, evaluating your overall potential, personality, and motivation rather than relying solely on standardized test scores.   • Bachelor's DegreeA successfully completed Bachelor's degree comprising at least 180 ECTS points (210 ECTS for the Fast Track option), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Business Studies PrerequisiteAt least 30 ECTS points in the field of business sciences; applicants without sufficient business credits may complete the ISM Pre-Master program
  • GPA / NC RequirementNo specific GPA or Numerus Clausus (NC) is required; admission is based on a holistic assessment of abilities, motivation, and personality
  • Admission ProcessOnline document submission followed by a personal selection interview including a short presentation; the process evaluates your background, goals, and motivation
  • Fast Track OptionComplete the degree in 3 semesters (90 ECTS) by skipping the semester abroad; requires 210 ECTS from your Bachelor's or equivalent work experience
