As a future banking and finance practitioner, you will consider ethical and sustainable financial practices, appreciating the current issues in FinTech. You will graduate with an understanding of the range of disciplines involved in the financial industry, with the opportunity to delve deeper into your personal area of interest through the dissertation module. You’ll explore the characteristics of the banking system and gain a greater understanding of how its complex interactions with financial institutions and markets impact on domestic and global economies. You’ll delve into financial decision-making where you’ll get to grips with domestic and global financial markets and techniques used for financial analysis and raising capital. You’ll also become more familiar with the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria and how it can be used to support sustainable financial decision-making. From a computing perspective, you’ll learn the common ways in which AI systems work, including the legal and ethical challenges associated with the use of these models. You’ll also develop an increased understanding of Blockchain, Crypto and digital technologies and the evolution of legal and regulatory frameworks that address new technologies, especially in the financial context. As well as improving your understanding of global financial markets and investment practices, our Market Analysis and Trading module will equip you with the chance to develop advanced skills by using Bloomberg Terminal data platform in our Bloomberg Suite. You’ll get the chance to resolve real world tasks linked to big data using advanced data analysis techniques and tools and our Dissertation module will give you the opportunity to pursue independent research linked to a topic identified within the programme.
