Curriculum & Course Modules
The Construction Techniques program is divided into two academic terms over 30 weeks, combining trade-specific practical modules with foundational academic courses. Each trade block runs for seven weeks, giving you immersive, focused training in masonry, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
Introduction to masonry tools, materials, and techniques including bricklaying, block work, mortar mixing, and basic wall construction with emphasis on safety practices and industry standards.
Foundational training in plumbing systems, pipe fitting, soldering, drainage principles, and fixture installation, with hands-on practice using professional plumbing tools and materials.
Introduction to electrical theory, wiring methods, circuit installation, electrical safety codes, and the use of testing instruments in residential and light commercial applications.
Hands-on training in framing, layout, measurement, wood joinery, and the safe operation of hand and power tools used in residential and commercial carpentry projects.
Comprehensive safety training covering general and trade-specific hazard identification, workplace health and safety legislation, personal protective equipment, and safe work procedures on construction sites.
