Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) was established in 1997 by the Kültür College Education Foundation (KEV), one of Turkey's oldest private education institutions with over 60 years of experience. Located on the European side of Istanbul, the university operates across four campuses — Ataköy, Şirinevler, İncirli, and Basın Ekspres — and is officially recognized by YÖK, Turkey's Council of Higher Education.

The university conducts its academic and scientific activities through eight faculties, two vocational schools, and a graduate school, offering approximately 59 departments and programs. IKU provides education in both Turkish and English, with a strong emphasis on international standards, practical competence, and creativity in line with its mission to contribute to society through scientific, artistic, and cultural activities.

IKU has grown from 157 students and 32 academic staff at its founding to over 13,500 students today, including more than 1,000 international students. The university holds accreditations from MÜDEK, FEDEK, MAK, and EUR-ACE, and is a member of the Erasmus+ program with partnerships at over 120 European universities.
