Curriculum & Modules

The MSc in Engineering Physics is structured around a core foundation in advanced physics and engineering, with specialized modules depending on your chosen curriculum path. The program totals 120 ECTS over two years, including coursework, elective credits, an internship, and a final thesis project.

Advanced Quantum Mechanics

6 ECTS

A rigorous exploration of quantum theory fundamentals, covering quantum states, operators, perturbation theory, and applications to modern quantum technologies and materials science.

Statistical Mechanics and Complex Systems

6 ECTS

Study of statistical mechanics principles applied to complex systems across physics, biology, and social sciences, including network theory and computational modeling approaches.

Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering

Admission Requirements

The Engineering Physics master's degree programme is an open admission programme taught entirely in English. Academic Requirements

  • Undergraduate DegreeBachelor's degree (minimum 3 years, 180 ECTS or equivalent) in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related field
  • Minimum ECTS in Core SubjectsAt least 60 ECTS in mandatory fields including Mathematics and Computer Science (minimum 15 ECTS), Physics, and Engineering
  • Academic BackgroundAdequate knowledge in mathematical analysis, classical physics, quantum and matter physics, electronic engineering, and computer engineering or computer science
  • Degree ClassificationEquivalent to Italian Laurea Triennale in classes L-8 (Information Engineering), L-30 (Physical Sciences), or L-31 (Computer Science) or comparable international qualifications
  • Personal PreparationEvaluation of curriculum vitae and studiorum by the Teaching Committee; an additional interview may be required
