Nutrition and Dietetics

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Beykent University offers a comprehensive undergraduate program designed to educate future dietitians who play a key role in promoting individual and public health through proper nutrition. With a curriculum grounded in science and practice, the program prepares students to assess nutritional needs, develop personalized diet plans, implement dietary treatments, and deliver education and counseling that supports long-term well-being.

Over the course of four years, students receive in-depth instruction in fields such as human physiology, biochemistry, food science, clinical nutrition, community nutrition, public health, and disease prevention. This solid scientific foundation is complemented by courses on communication skills, health education, ethics, and research methods to ensure that graduates are fully equipped to address the complex challenges of modern nutrition.

Practical training is a core component of the program. Students complete internships in hospitals, public health institutions, and food industry settings where they gain hands-on experience in nutritional assessment, patient care, food service management, and community outreach. These experiences help them develop the skills necessary to create evidence-based nutrition strategies tailored to the physiological, psychological, and socio-economic needs of different populations.

Graduates of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics are prepared to work as dietitians in hospitals, wellness centers, schools, sports institutions, nursing homes, food service companies, and public health organizations. They may also contribute to scientific research, policy-making, or continue their academic journey through graduate studies.

The program is delivered in Turkish and spans 4 academic years, with a strong emphasis on lifelong learning, ethical responsibility, and the application of current scientific knowledge in real-world settings.
