Family studies (MA)

The Master’s in Family Studies at VIZJA University is a comprehensive two-year (four-semester) graduate program designed to provide an in-depth understanding of family dynamics and prepare students for advanced professional roles in counseling, education, and social services. The program integrates knowledge from psychology, pedagogy, and social welfare, enabling students to analyze and support families in complex social contexts.

Students explore topics such as family development across the lifespan, communication and conflict resolution within families, psychological counseling techniques, and the impact of social policies on family well-being. The curriculum emphasizes practical skills, with opportunities for internships, workshops, and applied research projects, equipping graduates with the ability to design interventions, conduct assessments, and implement evidence-based support strategies for families.

A key component of the program is pedagogical training, which prepares students to teach Family Life Education in schools and community programs. Students also gain expertise in working with social welfare systems, understanding their role in promoting family stability and addressing social inequalities.

The program is offered in Polish and English, making it accessible to both domestic and international students. Graduates are well-prepared for careers as family counselors, educators, social workers, and specialists in family support organizations, and the degree also provides a solid foundation for further academic pursuits, including doctoral studies in social sciences or education.
