Global Contemporary Art MA

The Global Contemporary Art MA is a practice-led program designed to address the fundamental shift in the vision and purpose of contemporary art within global and translocal contexts. Informed by the Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media (CREAM), the curriculum enables students to develop imaginative responses to major global challenges through research-led initiatives. The course emphasizes learning through engagement with real-world organizations and platforms, encouraging experimentation with collaborative and interdisciplinary methods. Based at the Harrow Campus, students have access to a creative environment equipped with industry-level facilities, including the Emerging Media Space, 3D workshops, and green screen studios. A central feature is the year-long Professional Practice module, which provides mentorship, career seminars, and workshops focused on sustainable artistic careers. Students are encouraged to explore themes such as alternative futures and collective identities, ultimately developing projects across diverse sites and digital platforms. This program prepares graduates to be mobile professionals capable of making a significant impact in the global art world.
