Overview
Common mandatory activities
Mandatory training includes a course integrating cognitive psychology and social psychology, providing theoretical and practical tools that simultaneously promote the integration of skills between the two main scientific fields that characterize the degree program. A course integrating psychometrics and psychodiagnostics is also planned, providing students with the assessment and cross-sectional data analysis methodologies necessary for the future professional development of a psychology graduate. Training in cross-sectional skills will also be provided through professional development activities chosen by the student, as well as a 500-hour Practical Evaluation Internship (TPV). This will take place at external institutions and aims to develop practical and methodological skills in applied contexts. Upon completion of the TPV, students will be assessed on the skills acquired. A positive assessment will allow them to proceed to the Practical Evaluation Test (PPV), which will also assess their ethical and professional conduct skills. Finally, students will take the final exam, which will allow them to obtain the qualifying master's degree.
Community and Wellbeing:
The objective of the applied area is to train professionals capable of promoting the psychological, physical, and social well-being of individuals in diverse life contexts. Students will acquire skills to analyze the impact of digital media on behaviors and relationships, designing strategies to improve well-being in online interactions. Furthermore, they will address issues such as stigma, diversity, and discrimination, designing inclusive interventions. The course will also explore the benefits of physical activity for psychological well-being and combating a sedentary lifestyle, and will provide tools for managing psychosocial risks in the workplace, preventing phenomena such as burnout and stress.
Work and Organizations:
The objective of the applied area is to train professionals capable of optimizing organizational processes and promoting well-being at work, effectively managing human resources in diverse and innovative contexts. Students will acquire skills in human resource management, with a focus on promoting psychological, physical, and social well-being, preventing psychosocial risks, and managing stress. They will learn to manage cultural, ethnic, and gender diversity in the workplace, designing inclusion policies. Additionally, they will develop skills in the psychology of applied creativity to stimulate innovation and improve group dynamics. The applied field will also provide skills in organizational behavior and design, with the aim of optimizing company structure and improving job satisfaction.preparing students to manage change and create healthy and inclusive work environments.
Ergonomics and Technology Application Area:
The objective of the application area is to train experts in the design and optimization of interactions between people, environments, and technologies, with a focus on efficient performance, safety, and well-being in complex contexts. Students will acquire skills in cognitive ergonomics and advanced data collection and analysis methods to improve usability and reduce errors. They will also study applied perception in everyday activities to design interventions and draft project proposals for public and private entities. The course also includes a module on cognitive training and virtual reality in sports, to optimize cognitive and physical performance. Furthermore, students will learn to assist in the development of interfaces and systems to improve collaboration between people and technologies, with the aim of optimizing performance in sectors such as work, sports, and industry.
People, Animals, Environments, and Society Application Area:
The objective of the application area is to train experts capable of analyzing the relationships between people, animals, environments, and society, addressing global challenges related to climate change, sustainability, and well-being. Students will develop skills in environmental psychology, exploring the impact of physical environments on human behavior and how to promote pro-environmental behavior. They will also learn to manage interactions between people and animals, analyzing their impact on ecological balance and promoting responsible coexistence. The applied field will include environmental sociology, to understand the social and cultural dynamics related to environmental issues, and the geography of global change, with a focus on sustainable and resilient cities. Students will be prepared to promote sustainability solutions, improving human and animal well-being, and social equity.
