Materials Engineering

Upon graduation, you will be able to generate, drive and manage technological innovation, and you will be able to occupy high-level technical or managerial positions in contexts where in-depth knowledge of fundamental science and engineering is required, with a focus on the design, development, characterisation, production, use and life cycle management of materials.

You can choose to specialise in one of two curricula:

Manufacturing and Product Development, where you will study manufacturing and processing technologies, damage mechanisms in operation, and design methodologies and tools used in the manufacturing industry to optimise current processes and products and to develop innovative processes and products.

Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development, where you will develop skills in materials and processes for energy production and conversion, reduction of energy consumption through innovative materials and technologies, recovery and recycling to reduce the environmental impact of production processes and material conversion. All courses are taught in English and you will have the opportunity to study abroad, on double degree programmes or on pathways of excellence with European or non-European universities or higher education institutions, such as the EIT Double Degree in Sustainable Materials.
