Aerodynamics and Computation (MSc)

Preparation for professional roles in industrial research and development, or for the pursuit of subsequent postgraduate research, is provided by this program. Expertise in aerodynamics is cultivated through a combination of individual and collaborative practical work, culminating in a critical research project.

Current trends and challenges are examined, fostering engagement with critical issues in the field. Furthermore, the capacity to utilize experimental and advanced computational methods—such as particle image velocimetry, the finite volume method, and high-order finite difference methods—is developed. Research projects are frequently aligned with ongoing institutional research or supported by external industrial and governmental funding. Illustrative examples of past undertakings include investigations into the installation effects on the noise of Dyson high-speed fans, aerodynamic load estimation via particle image velocimetry, and the modeling of morphing wing aircraft.
