Medical Physics

The aim is to train a professional figure capable of responding to the demands of the job market and research (both public and private) in the advanced sectors of applied nuclear physics, radiation protection, development of biomedical instrumentation, technologies and methodologies for medical diagnostics and therapy. The degree course aims to train a graduate in Medical Physics capable of managing and designing complex, high-tech equipment for applications in the medical field in the public sector (public health facilities and companies), private sector (medical diagnostic centers, private clinics) and industrial sector (biomedical instrumentation and radiopharmaceutical production companies). This acquired knowledge is added to the skills that are conventionally obtained by the graduate in Physics with regard to teaching, training, dissemination of scientific culture, promotion of the development of scientific and technological innovation and finally the organization and coordination of work groups, including multidisciplinary ones, in both national and international contexts.

To pursue these objectives, the Degree Course is organized into a single curriculum that includes training contributions specific to the area of physical sciences and disciplines specific to the area of chemical sciences, biological sciences and medical sciences.

The Degree Course also provides for the integration of theoretical training with periods of internship at both public and private health facilities, research centers, companies, laboratories, consultancy firms and freelance professionals.
