History of Art

 They will be able to recognize and transmit the cultural values and the dimension of testimonies of civilization of this heritage. They will be able to combine historical education with skills related to the problems of protection, conservation and restoration. The curriculum of studies will allow them to acquire the necessary training required for the professional qualification of Art Historian, defined in the specific profile, pursuant to the law that established the national lists of professionals of Cultural Heritage recognized by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism (art. 2 of the law of 22 July 2014, n. 110), now Ministry of Culture.

The training path of the master's degree includes some options that allow you to follow, in addition to the specific teachings of history and criticism of the arts, also the disciplines useful for the training of future teachers (anthropology, psychology, pedagogy), relating to the economy and management of cultural heritage, and integrative disciplines such as geography and legislation on cultural heritage.

The master's degree obtained with this course provides students with the knowledge necessary to access further levels in the field of specialized studies of the discipline (master's, doctoral school), access to competitions for teaching Art History in high schools and, integrated with the appropriate exams, also to other competition classes of literary subjects. It also allows participation in competitions for inspection and management roles in public administration, specifically in the central and peripheral offices of the Ministry of Culture. More general skills and abilities are also offered that allow entry into other sectors of the world of work (in the field of publishing, communication and management of information and dissemination through new media and social networks).
