Program Overview: History of the Arts and Cultural History (B.A.)

The Bachelor of Arts in History of the Arts and Cultural History (Kunst- und Kulturgeschichte) at the University of Augsburg is an interdisciplinary program that integrates Classical Archaeology, Art History, European Ethnology/Folklore, Digital Imaging in the Humanities, Musicology, and European Regional History including Bavarian and Swabian Regional History. This unique combination allows you to explore cultural heritage, popular culture, migration, and other research themes from multiple disciplinary perspectives.

The program is dedicated to culture that can be experienced sensually and artistically, as well as culture that is socially lived, remembered, and reflected upon. Diverse cultural expressions are treated both historically and in relation to the present, giving you a comprehensive understanding of European cultural development from antiquity to the modern era.
