Environmental Engineering

The research-oriented Master's program in Environmental Engineering addresses key questions related to the sustainable use of our environment, combining environmental analysis, engineering methodological expertise, and qualifications for the planning and operation of buildings and facilities. 

The program structure allows for a broad, generalist education or specialization in specific fields, depending on interests. These include geoinformatics, the circular economy, renewable energy technology, coastal and flood protection, urban water management, and spatial and transport planning.

Through the communication of scientific contexts and modern working methods, students are enabled to actively participate in solving future-oriented, complex tasks in the environmental sector and to develop and utilize suitable engineering approaches.

In addition to in-depth specialist knowledge, key competencies are taught that enable students to establish a profile for research, scientific and consulting activities, as well as for the management of companies in the environmental sector. By offering English-language modules, the program is also geared towards the international job market.
