Legal requirements for admission

An executive board will decide on the basis of your qualifications if you are to be enrolled in the master's program "Historical Musicology". You will need a first university degree based on at least three years of study in a related subject with above-average results (overall grade at least "good"), which must be equivalent to a Bachelor's degree at the University of Regensburg. International applicants must provide evidence of German language skills at DSH level.

Language skills needed

Knowledge of the German language at level 2 of the DSH exam (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber = DSH-2)

The length of the program depends on the progress of an individual's studies. The standard period of study, the time in which the intended program can be finished ideally is 4 semesters. The actual time taken to complete the program may vary. It is limited by the examination deadlines set out in the examination regulations.

A four-week internship is an obligatory component of the program. If arranged with the module supervisor, this can be replaced with the same scope of contribution to a project, observations, or volunteering (outside the university).
