Social Studies - Bachelor's Programme

In order to study this course at the University of Oldenburg as a student from outside of Germany, you need an adequate knowledge of German.

German Language Proficiency

• DSH: Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (Level 2) or
• TestDaF: Test – Deutsch als Fremdsprache (with level 4 in all four areas) or
• Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) Level C1

• Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) Level B1 or
• other successfully completed tests for level B1 (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge English Language Assessment, UNIcert, TOEIC, TELC, internal language test of the Language Centre of the University of Oldenburg).

Careers and Areas of Employment

The career fields open to graduates of social sciences are very diverse. These may include work in public administration, national or international organisations, the education sector (in and outside of schools), political and social consultation, as well as research in institutes and universities. Generally speaking, most of these fields require a master's degree, especially for positions in the upper tier.
