Program Overview: BSc Automation and Control at KTU
The Automation and Control programme at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) provides students with a comprehensive understanding of automated systems, robotics, and industrial process control. Delivered entirely in English over four years, this program prepares graduates to develop, design, install, and service automation solutions ranging from simple equipment to complex technological process control systems using classical and modern approaches, including artificial intelligence and computer-based sensors.
Housed within the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, the programme combines rigorous theoretical instruction with extensive hands-on experience in modern research and teaching laboratories. Students benefit from international mobility opportunities through partnerships with universities abroad and gain real-world skills through professional internships with local and international companies.
In the third year, students choose a specialisation in control systems, mechatronic systems, or process control, allowing them to tailor their studies to their career interests. The programme has been awarded the Investors' Spotlight Quality Label, confirming that it meets the expectations of Lithuanian and international investors and is a leader in the training of automation systems specialists.
Key Program Highlights
- Investors' Spotlight Quality Label recognising the programme as a leader in training automation specialists that meet investor and industry expectations
- Three specialisation tracks available from the third year: control systems, mechatronic systems, and process control
- Hands-on training with real industrial equipment in state-of-the-art laboratories and international training centres
- Integrated AI, computer vision, and digital twin technologies alongside classical automation and robotics instruction
