Overview
The Bachelor’s in Natural Resources Planning is an undergraduate degree designed for students interested in the sustainable use, protection, and management of natural resources. The programme integrates perspectives from environmental science, ecology, geography, planning, Indigenous studies, and public policy to prepare students for addressing complex environmental and land-use challenges.
Students study key areas such as land-use and resource planning, environmental assessment, ecosystem management, conservation strategies, climate change adaptation, and sustainability policy. The programme places strong emphasis on ethical decision-making, long-term environmental stewardship, and the social and cultural dimensions of natural resource management, including respectful engagement with Indigenous communities.
Teaching and learning combine theoretical study with applied projects, case studies, and field-based learning. Students develop essential skills in research, data analysis, critical thinking, communication, and project planning, enabling them to evaluate environmental impacts and contribute to informed planning decisions.
Graduates of the Natural Resources Planning Bachelor’s programme are well prepared for careers in environmental planning, conservation and resource management, sustainability consulting, government and public service, and non-profit environmental organisations.
