Overview
The program introduces contemporary knowledge and techniques from natural and social sciences. Students gain a broad background in foundational and integrative forestry management topics. They challenge conventional approaches and pursue minors for specialized expertise. Experiential learning occurs at the Aleza Lake Research Forest and John Prince Research Forest. The degree is accredited by the Canadian Forestry Accreditation Board and meets certification for the Association of BC Forest Professionals. It offers career paths such as Silviculturist, Woodlands manager, and Registered Professional Forester. The program supports research careers or advanced studies like master's or PhD. It provides linkages to northern B.C.’s natural resources, industry, and communities. The Forestry Ecology and Management degree introduces you to contemporary knowledge and techniques drawn from a variety of disciplines in the natural and social sciences.

Forestry education and research at UNBC involves experiential learning at two research forests—the 10,000-hectare Aleza Lake Research Forest near Prince George and the 13,000-hectare John Prince Research Forest near Fort St. James.
