Comprehensive study of the biomechanical principles underlying the function of all major joints, including the hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, and ankle. You will explore rigid body mechanics and structural mechanics relevant to orthopaedic practice.
Covers the full range of diagnostic imaging modalities used in orthopaedic surgery, including radiography, CT, MRI, and ultrasound. You will learn to interpret imaging findings and apply them to clinical decision-making.
Detailed study of musculoskeletal trauma, fracture classification systems, fixation principles, and management of complex orthopaedic injuries. Includes practical workshops on surgical approaches and fixation techniques.
Delivered in association with the Institute of Motion Analysis and Research (IMAR), this module covers gait analysis, motion capture technology, and clinical applications of biomechanical assessment in orthopaedic patients.
Focused study of orthopaedic sub-specialities including upper limb surgery, foot and ankle surgery, paediatric orthopaedics, spinal surgery, and orthopaedic oncology. Includes cadaveric workshops on shoulder approaches, hand and wrist, foot and ankle, spine, and navigated knee replacement.
