Fine Art MFA at the University of Dundee — Program Overview

The Fine Art MFA at the University of Dundee is delivered through the renowned Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD), one of Scotland's leading art schools. This highly interdisciplinary program encourages you to explore visual knowledge and expression across a wide range of platforms, building upon and developing your practical making and research skills in the context of contemporary art practice.

The program embraces all forms of art practice, including sculpture, painting, photography, drawing, printmaking, audio and video, performance, installation, and work in the public domain. You will have the opportunity to work across the traditionally medium-defined boundaries imposed by many fine art programs, allowing genuine creative freedom and experimentation.

Through lively debates in both physical and digital communities, you will strengthen your ability to self-evaluate through reflective practice and cumulative progression. The program is designed for practicing artists who wish to concentrate for a full academic year on advancing their contemporary art practice within a supportive, collegiate environment.
