Curriculum & Modules
The Anatomy & Advanced Forensic Anthropology PGDip curriculum integrates rigorous anatomical training with advanced forensic anthropological methods. You will gain comprehensive knowledge through a combination of lectures, laboratory-based practical sessions including cadaveric dissection, and case-study analysis guided by expert forensic practitioners.
A comprehensive study of human anatomy through full-body dissection using Thiel-embalmed cadavers. You will explore organ and tissue relationships at both whole-body and microscopic (histological) levels.
Focuses on the analysis and interpretation of human remains for medico-legal purposes, covering skeletal methods used for the construction of the biological profile including age, sex, stature, and ancestry estimation.
Develops skills needed to assess juvenile skeletal remains, covering the development of the juvenile skeleton and age estimation methods specific to sub-adult individuals.
Trains you to produce forensic skeletal reports to professional standards and to understand how these reports are presented as evidence in court proceedings.
Examines the identification and interpretation of skeletal trauma and pathological conditions, including their significance in forensic casework involving interpersonal violence and homicide.
